Today’s Outfit: Kimono A Go-Go

2 Dec

Part kimono-style, part wrap-style. Bought in a random boutique on the upper west side, I was enamored by the black and white print and the drapey silhouette. It has a ton of volume without looking huge, due to the heavy, jersey material that weighs itself down.  Plus, a little Japanese-Kimono inspiration never hurt anyone, right?

It’s an easy throw on top that has a dramatic quality to it. Note:  black and white is always dramatic because of their high contrast quality, so if you want to be bold, that’s your ticket.

Fashion Inspiration: Red, White & Blue

16 Mar

What a fabulous way to be patriotic! This sleeveless, wrap-style tunic transforms the red/white/blue combination from Americana to bohemian magic. The wrap makes for a defined waistline and the full shoulders offer a great deal of coverage while still bearing arms for the summer season. And, the scarf-style hemline and painterly print are edgy and bold.  Wear a top like this with a sleek pair of black cigarette pants, white bermuda shorts, or super-flare jeans.
