Today’s Outfit: Tights are the Best Accessory

12 Dec

Q: What’s the fastest way to make a simple outfit come to life?

A: Wear brightly colored tights.

It’s a no-brainer, really.  If I don’t want to think too much about piecing an outfit together, I go all-black and pull on some cheerful tights.  Color blocking (juxtaposing large areas of bright colors in one outfit) doesn’t ever seem to go out of style, and this is a subtle approach to that trend.  Besides being a fantastic cobalt blue, my tights are soft, supple, and super opaque (not to mention, warm).

Shoes by Karen Millen…it was one of those moments where I popped into a store I’d never noticed and the stars aligned. Last pair. About 90% off retail (we’re talking under $50….I know!) and they fit like a glove.  Patent leather, 5″ heel, 1.5″ platform and a fitted ankle strap.  Can we say “magic”?

Today’s Outfit: Don’t Feel Blue

3 Dec

Wear it instead. Today’s outfit was crafted around my brand new Wolford tights. Oh yes – these tights are the softest, most amazing pair of legwear I’ve yet to get my hands on (or, legs in). Wolford is the ultimate in women’s hosiery and presents itself as a sophisticated, luxurious, sensual, and high-quality portfolio of products.  Wolford makes women want to spend the extra dollars to feel the way their hosiery makes them look.  But, I happened to get mine from a sample sale.

Fashion Trends: 5 Lovely Lace Tights

27 Oct

When it’s too cold to go bare-legged and too warm to don those thick tights or wool pants, what’s a good option for in-between? The answer is lacy tights.  A perfect, effortless accessory, lace patterns are borderline hypnotic when you stare long enough. But, beyond their psychological implications, they’re a very versatile (subtly sexy) option for leg wear.  Here are some lovely, lacy, leg-bearing options.

Today’s Outfit – Pretty in Fuschia

I have to admit, I love this outfit (if I do say so myself).  Why?

1) It’s so easy and comfortable – dress, tights, boots, done. 2) Tights are the easiest way to accessorize; I have them in many colors. 3) It’s a way to do basic black without being in all black, head to toe.

Check me out.
