Fashion Trend: 7 Peasant Tops

21 Dec

When I think of a peasant style top, I think of billowing sleeves, pretty prints or embroidery, eyelet, string ties, lace, and fluid silhouettes. Did I get it all? Peasant tops are amazing for multitude of reasons:

1. They hide a tummy because they are loose-fitting by design (pun intended)

2. Their open necklines show off a woman’s pretty neck and decolletage; very elegant

3. They’re sort of hippie/boho chic, but still refined and pulled together

4. They’re a one-and-done – throw it on over fitted trousers or skinny pants with some pumps and you’re ‘done’

Here are seven examples of pretty peasant tops for the season. Take them a step beyond the simple pants pairing and try something different: layer one of these under a structured menswear vest or tuck it into a high-waist skirt.
